1. Introduction
Newborn AI ("Newborn AI," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that creates stylized images
from photos selected by a parent or legal guardian. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App
collects, how it is collected and used, when it is shared with third parties, how long it is retained,
and the choices available to you.
👶 Your Choice: A selected photo is not sent to a third-party AI provider until you
are shown an in-app disclosure and choose Allow.
2. Data We Collect
- Photos you choose: A photo you capture or select is collected directly from you
only when you request AI image generation and grant permission for third-party AI processing.
- Generation instructions: The selected style and related text instructions used to
create the requested image.
- Purchase information: Subscription status, product identifiers, transaction or
receipt information, and an app-specific user identifier used to manage purchases. Payment-card
details are handled by Apple and are not received by us.
- Usage, device, and diagnostic information: App interactions, device and app
information, identifiers, approximate region, performance data, and crash or diagnostic data that
may be collected by our service providers.
- Support information: Your email address, message, and any information you choose to
provide when contacting support.
3. AI Photo Processing and Your Permission
When you tap the image-generation button for the first time, the App displays an alert before any photo
is transmitted. The alert explains that the selected photo will be sent to
AIProxy and Replicate for AI processing and offers separate
Allow and Don't Allow choices.
- If you choose Allow, the selected photo and generation instructions are transmitted
through an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection to AIProxy and Replicate solely to generate the image you
requested.
- If you choose Don't Allow, the photo is not transmitted and AI generation does not
begin.
- Your choice is stored on your device so the alert does not need to appear before every generation.
- You can withdraw permission at any time by tapping the Newborn AI header in the App
and selecting AI Data Sharing. Withdrawal prevents future photos from being sent.
If you later request generation again, the App will ask for permission again.
The generated image is returned to the App. It is saved to your photo library only when you choose to
save it, and any copy in your photo library is controlled by you through your device settings.
4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We use the following providers to operate the App:
- AIProxy:
Routes the selected photo and generation instructions securely to the AI-processing provider and
helps protect service credentials.
- Replicate:
Receives the selected photo and generation instructions, processes them using the Google Nano Banana
model hosted through Replicate, and returns the generated image.
- Google Firebase: Provides app configuration, analytics, diagnostic services, and
hosted style-preview assets. Firebase may receive usage, device, diagnostic, and network information;
it does not receive the selected photo from our AI-generation request.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and purchase entitlements and may receive
purchase, app-user, device, and diagnostic information.
- Apple: Provides App Store distribution, in-app purchases, and system photo-selection
or photo-library features under Apple's own privacy terms.
We do not sell your photos or use them for advertising. We share data only as described above to provide
App functionality, manage purchases, maintain security, and understand or diagnose App performance.
We require service providers that process user data on our behalf to provide the same or equivalent
protection described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable law. Their processing is also
governed by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Generate and deliver the image you request
- Manage subscriptions, purchases, and usage limits
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Respond to support and privacy requests
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
6. Data Retention
- Replicate API data: Replicate states that input parameters, output values, files,
and logs for predictions created through its API are automatically removed after one hour by
default. See Replicate's data-retention documentation.
- Photos on your device: A generated image is kept in your photo library only if you
choose to save it. You can delete it using the Photos app.
- Consent choice: Stored on your device until you withdraw permission, delete the
App, or reset the App's data.
- Purchase, analytics, and diagnostic data: Retained according to the operational,
legal, fraud-prevention, and retention requirements of Apple, RevenueCat, and Firebase.
- Support correspondence: Retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond,
maintain support records, and meet legal obligations.
7. Your Choices and Data Deletion
- Decline AI sharing: Choose Don't Allow when the permission alert
appears. The photo will not be sent.
- Withdraw consent: Open the App's Newborn AI information screen and tap
AI Data Sharing. This stops future transmissions.
- Photo access: Manage the App's photo-library permission in iOS Settings.
- Delete local images: Delete saved results through Apple's Photos app.
- Request access or deletion: Contact us at
karakusapp@gmail.com. Please describe the data or request
involved. We will respond as required by applicable law and coordinate with service providers when
necessary.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect data, including encrypted
HTTPS/TLS transmission and access controls. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed
to be completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Newborn AI is intended for use by parents and legal guardians, not by children directly. A parent or
legal guardian should select and submit any photo of a child and must have the legal authority to do so.
- We do not knowingly request personal data directly from children.
- If you believe a child's data was submitted without appropriate authorization, contact us at
karakusapp@gmail.com so we can investigate and take
appropriate deletion steps.
🔒 Parent Control: Only parents or legal guardians should use this App to edit
photos of children. We encourage users to be mindful of how edited photos are shared.
10. International Transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country. When data is transferred
internationally, we rely on approved mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses and implement
additional safeguards to ensure adequate protection.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or business practice. The "Last
updated" date shows the latest revision.
